A Healthy homemade Nutella with half the amount of calories than the shop bought version. Loaded with healthy fats and essential vitamins, This takes around 30 minutes to make and tastes great on a slim toasted Bagel.
You'll need a Nutri Bullet or blender for this.
Ingredients
2 cups Hazelnuts
1/2 TBSP Vanilla Extract
1/2 cup low fat milk or Almond milk/Coconut milk
1/4 Cocoa powder
1/4 cup maple syrup
2 tsp olive oil for additional smoothness
Method
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and place hazelnuts on a tray. Bake for 5-8 mins.
Remove the outer layer from the hazelnuts by rubbing them against paper, I used my hands and the outer layer comes apart with little effort.
Blend the Hazelnuts in a nutri bullet or blender until they turn into a paste, then add the rest of the ingredients and blend together until a desired constancy is achieved. Approx 2 mins. I stopped halfway and gave the mixture a stir, then continued to Blend.
Add the Nutella to a jar or cup, this should stay fresh for 7 days in the fridge.
Serve on a toasted Bagel.
