The best way to start or finish the day is with an outdoor workout.
Group exercise in a studio is great too with its advantages, from the state of the art soundsytem, to perfect lighting for that post workout selfie and with a selection of equipment to choose from it ticks all the boxes. However The benefits of an outdoor workout unlock different elements within us. With purer, cleaner air getting inhaled it naturally improves the oxegen levels entering our body during a workout. Sun exposure increases vitamin D levels and helps optimise our hormone levels. The power of the wind triggers primal regions of our brain and psyche. I personally find I can push myself harder in an outdoor environment. Wind resistance improves balance and stabilisation. Sand offers less impact on the joints, improves balance and strengthens stabilisation. Increased release of Endorphins, Dopamine and Serotonin which naturally give you a feeling of well being. The sound of the waves crashing in the background is a natural stress reliever. All the above can be achieved in a safe environment along with helping with weight loss, toning the body and burning through calories during my 30 minute Beach Fit classes at Banna Beach Kerry
